The Chinese company Bitmain began selling Antminer X3 equipment for the production of Monero and other coins. Engineers developed an anonymous algorithm called Cryptonight. The new equipment costs $12,000 dollars. Its characteristics are a power of 550 watts and a hash rate of 220 kH/s. Antminer X3 can mine a cryptocurrency in the amount of $170 per day. The code of the platform has made changes that will not affect ordinary users but will limit the capabilities of industrial miners. Bitmain at once warns – buyers themselves are responsible for all risks. The equipment cannot be returned. To counter ASIC-miners, the creators of Monero are ready to change the algorithm with every planned fork every six months.
