The Chilean Ministry of Energy is introducing a blockchain technologies to store statistical data. To increase the integrity and trust in information, the data is transferred to a public electronic register. Records are distributed among a large number of nodes, thereby increasing the level of security. The commission has already begun to transmit data on installed electricity generating capacities, average market prices, marginal costs and prices for hydrocarbons. At the end of the first phase of the project, the commission will study the results. The commission will share the results of the work with other state bodies in this sector.
